a writer, reader, podcaster, eldest daughter, nerd, dragon lover, and time travel enthusiast. Born and raised in Oakland, CA. I was always drawn to stories with magic, and quickly began writing my own (most of which have, thankfully, been lost to time and broken desktops). Now, I write fantasy stories rooted in and inspired by Black diasporic folklore, culture, and history. My books often explore magic, community, and Black characters who struggle with balancing their dreams and desires with expectations placed upon them.

When I’m not writing, I’m either competing with myself to see if I can read the books on my TBR faster than I can buy them, hanging out with my younger siblings, or am stuck in traffic with my music turned all the way up.
